What is a Transcriber?
TypeWell Transcribers use laptops with specialized software using abbreviations to transcribe meaning-for-meaning class lectures and discussions for students with disabilities. The students read the transcription in real time from a second computer or PDA.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Satisfactory completion of the online TypeWell typing and listening skills tests
- Ability to type 65 WPM or higher with no errors
- Ability to read, hear, understand, and communicate college level academic information
- Ability to understand and summarize information while typing
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty
- Have a flexible schedule
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred

- If you successfully complete the online test, we will contact you to continue the application process
Hiring process:
- Successful completion of the Typewell Course
- The hourly rate will be determined based on education and experience
- This is a term position
- We will contact you with Transcribing assignments as needed
