Scholarships

The following scholarships are available for students with disabilities. Applications will be accepted starting January 18, 2018.

Robert L. & Helen Johnson Scholarship

Overview

Through generous contributions made by Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, the Robert L. & Helen Johnson scholarship was established to assist students with disabilities further their education. The SDS Scholarship Committee is comprised of various Student Life offices and may include staff and students as well as faculty members. The SDS Scholarship Committee will select recipients based on the specific criteria indicated below through a competitive selection process. Funds are distributed to recipients at the beginning of the fall semester during Financial Aid disbursement.

Students with Visual Disability Scholarship

Overview

Through generous contributions made by local service membership organizations dedicated to improving communities and encouraging leadership, a scholarship program was established for students with visual disabilities. Although the scholarship has an order of preference given to students with visual disabilities, students with other documented disabilities are encouraged to apply and will be considered for awards. The Student Disability Services (SDS) Scholarship Committee is comprised of various Student Life offices and may include staff and students as well as faculty members. The SDS Scholarship Committee will select recipients based on the specific criteria indicated below through a competitive selection process. Funds are distributed to recipients at the beginning of the fall semester during Financial Aid disbursement.

UT Haslam College of Business Scholarships for Students with Learning Disabilities

The Haslam College of Business has two scholarships, the Roland C. Van Dorselaer Scholarship and the Dale and LaVerne Culbertson Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship available for business students with documented learning disabilities. To be considered, students must have filled out the university’s general scholarship application.
