Accessibility Champion Award

Student Disability Services established a student-nominated annual award for faculty and staff who work to create and practice a culture of access and inclusion. SDS is excited to highlight the work of so many whose daily commitment to accessibility has such a significant impact on students. A committee comprised of SDS and the Division of Student Life Staff will review the nominations. The award will be issued at the SDS Awards Banquet and Induction Ceremony during the spring semester.

Criteria for Eligibility

The nominee must have:

  • demonstrated contributions to access and inclusion for students with disabilities
  • developed or adopted creative ways to provide access in the classroom or to the university experience that are above and beyond the provision of accommodations.

Important Points:

  • Nomination must have a minimum word count of 200.
  • Providing disability-related accommodations as reflected on the course access letter alone does not meet the criteria for this award.
  • SDS Staff are not eligible for this award.
