SDS Relocation – Winter 2023

Updated: 8/24/2023

Relocation to Blount Hall

As a result of the planned demolition of Dunford Hall, Student Disability Services will be temporarily relocated to Blount Hall in late December 2023 after final exams or early January 2024. We will reside on the first and ground floors of the building and will expand our testing center capacity to accommodate more students.

In 2026, SDS will be relocated to the new Melrose Building, located across from Hodges Library. In addition to housing SDS, the building will be home to the Division of Student Success and will include additional classrooms, academic space, and special event space.

December 14, 2022

Good afternoon,

I am pleased to share with you that in 2026, Student Disability Services will be relocated to the new Melrose Building, located across from Hodges Library. In addition to housing Student Disability Services, the building will be home to the Division of Student Success and include additional classrooms, academic space, and special event space. This relocation will enable our office to better serve our students, empowering them to meet their academic, professional, and personal goals while at UT.

As a result of the planned demolition of Dunford Hall, Student Disability Services will be temporarily relocated to Blount Hall in summer of 2023. Our office will reside on the first and ground floors of the building, and our new Testing Center in Blount Hall will be expanded to accommodate more students.

We have been collaborating with university administrators to ensure that department and student needs are met. I am pleased to share that student services and support will not be disrupted, and we will continue to work with the UT community to ensure an accessible university experience for all students

As we prepare for this transition, our team will continue to work with you as needed to be sure you have the tools you need to succeed. If you have any questions or concerns, our team is here to assist you.

Sincerely,

David Ndiaye
Director, Student Disability Services
